While there may not be a helicopter landing strip or runway on the track's grounds, a wise option to get to the track during the busy summer season is via the train or Coaster.

Click here for Amtrak ScheduleAngelenos and OC-based fans can check out Amtrak's schedule. Take the train from Union Station - or any Los Angeles or Orange County train station - to Solana Beach. Spend the time researching your picks and wagers (on racing Thoroughbreds and the opposite sex), applying the last coat of nail polish on your digits, or indulging in some beverages before hitting up the Del Martini line at the track.

San Diegians can opt to jump on the Coaster train from Downtown or Oceanside.

No matter how you rail it, a FREE double-decker bus will pick up you and your entourage from the Solana Beach station and drop you off - fancy hats and all - directly in front of the Del Mar Racetrack entrance. And on concert nights the "No Patron Left Behind" policy is in effect.

Click here for Coaster ScheduleFor the high-rollers (or those pretending to be this season), a myriad of limousines are at your service.

Another carbon footprint-reducing option is biking. San Diego coastal towns have several bike-friendly, scenic routes for those on titanium. You can access directions to the track here.

However you get to the track this season, please make sure you arrive safely (the train and Coaster are built-in DDs) and in time to place your wagers for the first post.
